One Room Challenge Week 3 – Demo, wallpaper and more!
So, last week was the beginning of Demo for the guest bathroom. And to be honest, it was going quiet well. I thought I was making really good progress (famous last words) until I reached the shower tile… I don’t know what happened, but I hit a metaphorically wall with my momentum. And just like that all the progress I had made drifted, and I realized I was out of my depths with the Demo portion of this project.
Three days later, a crew of two guys came over and hammered out the last of the Demo, which was great! My body was grateful to not have to remove the countertops, sinks or the tub. During that time, it allowed me to get organized with all the other things that were left on my to do list. One Room Challenge has pushed me to keep on the schedule and keep the ball moving.
That brings me to wallpaper and more…
I have been on the hunt for some wallpaper, and I think I found a couple of great options. I wanted the wallpaper to feel like a discovery I found behind the drywall during demo. I don’t want everything in the bathroom to look and present itself as brand new. This allows the bathroom to have sense of warmth and history, even if that means I’m creating that history myself in present day. It’s all about the story you tell with your design.
The more… I have ordered all other items needed for the remodel. The mirrors, lights (TBD, I don’t know if I’ll actual like them in person), faucets, shower tile, floor tile, and all the rest of the good stuff.
Next week, is lighting and hopefully tile this sound be fun!
