Design Trends of 2025

Consider creative touches like placing art along your backsplash or mixing cherished heirlooms with modern elements to craft your own homes personality. Gone are the days when everyone has the same cookie-cutter house with grey walls and all white kitchens. Individuality is where it’s at for 2025!

What's new next year?

As we are fully in 2025 and most are In the process or have already taken down their holiday decorations and now are left with the feeling of “Now what?” in the absence of their holiday decor our team wanted to give you what they are wanting to see more of in 2025 with design trends.

Our top five design trends of 2025:

  1. Moody Hues

  2. Use of Color

  3. Textures & Patterns

  4. Statement Lighting

  5. Curved Lines

Moody Hues

These hues are like cozy blankets of color, perfect for adding depth and character to your space and giving it a refreshing reset. Some of our favorites include:

  1. Shiitake Mushroom by Sherwin-Williams

  2. Cos Cob Stonewall by Benjamin Moore

  3. De Nimes by Farrow & Ball

  4. Skimming Stone by Farrow & Ball

Use of Color

Whether it’s in kitchens, offices, or bathrooms, there’s a clear shift toward bringing color back into the home. It could be as subtle as adding a pop of color to kitchen hardware or as bold as fully immersing a guest room in vibrant hues.

Textures & Patterns

Embracing more texture and natural materials in accessories and finishes is definitely on the rise. Think Roman clay, plaster, woven fabrics, knots, large boules, and mixing patterns—it's all about creating interesting combinations. Playing with these textures, along with the return of bold, dramatic drapery, will be key in upcoming design trends.

Statement Lighting

In recent years, lighting has been experiencing a resurgence in material selection, and in 2025, architectural lighting—particularly sconces, chandeliers, and sculptural floor lamps—is poised to take center stage. Personally, I am a strong advocate for layered lighting. Why settle for a single lighting effect when you can create diverse atmospheres within one space by incorporating a variety of lighting options?

Curved Lines

Finally, curved lines and shapes are making a significant impact. The sharp, rigid lines of doorways and furniture are being replaced by softer, more organic curves and arches. Reflecting a broader trend this year, clients are increasingly seeking to infuse warmth into their homes. This is being achieved through the use of rounded furniture edges, curved kitchen islands, and arched doorways, all contributing to a more inviting and harmonious atmosphere.
